I am 17 years old and have grown up on the Isle of Skye. I live in Portree, which is the “capital city” of Skye. I went to Portree Primary School and am now finishing my fifth year in Portree High School.
I have a part time job working in our family chippy, which keeps the sum-mers interesting. I have been involved in the hospitality field since I was about 12, helping in the Urquhart Caledonian Hotel and with the Brigadoon Boat trips. You could even say that hospitality runs in the Urquhart’s blood!
I am an active member of the Skye Sailing Club, and I am now working to-wards achieving my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, which involves me training and volunteering with the Portree RNLI crew. When I turn 17, I will begin the training to become full crew member.
I like living on Skye as it is such a close knit community, that works ex-tremely hard to provide for the boat loads and bus loads of visitors we get every year. The island is drowning in rich heritage and breathtaking views that appeal to locals and tourists from all over the world. It’s easy to see why so many people come to visit our island every year!
