Portree is the capital of the Isle of Skye, but is no bigger than many a village elsewhere in Scotland and the UK.

Portree provides a sheltered anchorage for a range of fishing and pleasure boats.

The main A87 road heads west from Portree towards Uig and the ferry terminal for the Western Isles, but our tour takes the quieter, mainly single track, A855 road north into Trotternish.
