Kyleakin
This village is justifiably known as the Gateway to Skye, being the point at which most visitors arrive on or leave the Island - nowadays by travelling across the Skye Bridge.
Castle Moil (Caisteal Maol)
This castle, overlooking the Kyle, was the base for Clan Mackinnon from the late 15th century until it was abandoned early in the 17th century. At that time the castle was known as Dun Acainn.
The Obe
The long sheltered inlet called the Obe is one of Kyleakin's features.
This picture was taken from the ferry which used to run between Kyleakin and Kyle of Lochalsh before the Skye Bridge was built. In summer a small passenger ferry still croses the Kyle.
Finally we come to the Skye Bridge.
