Travelling west from the Armadale junction takes you through a series of small shore side villages and on to Broadford itself, which has a bank, Post Office, petrol station, supermarket and other shops.
The bay on the edge of the Inner Sound provides one of the few sandy beaches on Skye. To the west Beinn na Caillich, the closest of the Red Hills, rises over the village.
This shot was taken from the Waterloo area.
The village has two piers on the shore of the Inner Sound. This picture looks east towards the Old Pier with a few local boats, at high tide.
Highland cattle at their summer grazing by Broadford Bay, close to the New Pier.
These cattle belong to the owners of the Earsary Bed & Breakfast. There are more Highland Cattle pictures on their website.
After leaving Broadford the main road continues to head west towards Luib.
While in the area it's well worth making the time for a detour along the Road to Elgol.
