Love it or hate it the Skye Bridge, spanning from Kyleakin to Kyle of Lochalsh, is here and is the most frequently used way of getting on and off the Island of Skye.
Crossing the bridge is free (it was originally a toll bridge, but that arrangement has now finished).
Seen on a peaceful late spring evening from the railway station at Kyle of Lochalsh, the bridge can even look quite elegant - though whether it improves the view is a matter of opinion!
The CalMac ferry Loch Fyne seen from Loch Dunvegan (the other Kyle to Kyleakin ferry) on the day the bridge opened. The bridge itself is just visible in the background on the right.
This ends the tour of the Island, but you will find plenty more to see on the nearby Mainland, including Kyle of Lochalsh, Plockton and Glenelg.
